Learn About Herb Gardening

Herb garden’s, although it may seem obvious, are specifically grown for cooking, but also for medicinal purposes. It was developed many years ago, in fact centuries ago, dating back to medieval times. By tradition, herbs were grown in the natural environment, however, nowadays with the common use of fertilizers and pesticides they are not always as organic as we’d expect when bought from the local supermarket or grocers. You will gain through experience, knowledge and understanding of how herbs grow in the natural surroundings, and how nature helps them grow – this is key, but once you have found common ground with it, you will find yourself growing fresh organic herbs without a problem! I tend to imagine how the herbs would be grown in the wild, and exaggerate this when beginning my herb garden as this will only lead to healthier and more natural aromatic plants. Some common herbs that gardeners usually begin with (mainly for practice) are basil, chives, garlic, mint, parsley, sage, and thyme to name a few. I recommend trying to grow some of these to get a good idea of what you will need to do in the future of herb gardening as you can only learn by your own mistakes!
