Organic Gardening For Beginners
I like to look at organic gardening as growing for the future generation other than for a short-term purpose. It involves growing your garden using the natural strength of your soil to produce a nature friendly environment. First off you want to make sure you have mixed the right ingredients to create your organic compost, and believe me, this is key in this area of gardening. I find that using household waste (fruit & veg. odds and ends, ground coffee & tea bags, cardboard, wood shavings/sawdust) and garden waste (leaves, earth, branches, old flowers, straw and hay etc) is effective and also cheap as it is made up of things you are only going to end up getting rid of. Your compost does need to be a mixture of ingredients that rot quickly (these are the ingredients that get the compost going) and slow rotting ingredients (that prolong the composts effectiveness). You will learn the correct mixture only with experience.
